Dip into Charlevoix’s Rich Cornucopia

Follow our legendary Route des Saveurs to live your very own mouth-watering agritour experience where you’ll meet the producers too, discovering their installations and tasting their countless products. Visit Volières Baie-Saint-Paul in the morning to explore one of Québec’s largest oudoor aviaries and its herd of 200 boars, then azulée’s organic lavender field with its herb and edible flower gardens. Afterwards, choose your fresh-picked veggies at Ferme maraîchère La Bordée des Corneilles before heading down to the beach for drinks and nibblies: a signature experience, yours courtesy of La Route des Saveurs!

Also an RdS member, Maison d’affinage Maurice Dufour welcomes you to its countryside farm where the sheep roam free in the fields while humans are busy in the barn, vineyard, distillery, cheese-making facility and boutique!  An excellent example of a circular economy, the Dufour family has chosen to use a maximum of its dairy resources to create cheeses (including their now famous Migneron and Tomme d’Elles) and then redirecting the whey towards their line of spirits. Their audacity has been rewarded ‒ as popular as Muscat or Rosé, Distillerie Charlevoyou’s gin and eau-de-vie now proudly grace their boutique shelves, alongside their other winery products!

If  you’re planning a stopover at Laiterie de Charlevoix, it is good to know that in addition to their cheese economuseum tours, they offer tastings of their 10 signature cheeses including l’Hercule, le 1608 and le Fleurmier. In their cheese shop, you could literally fill your shopping cart to the brim with Charlevoix goodies! La Laiterie’s shelves also showcase a fair number of other Charlevoix producers: Champignons Charlevoix, Les Belles récoltes de Charlevoix, Les thés de Charlevoix, Cidrerie Pedneault, Viandes Biologiques de Charlevoix, Ferme Basque de Charlevoix, Moulin des Éboulements, and many more.

And your agritour would not be complete without dropping by our Sunday Farmers Market… Located on the Maison Mère property, 15 or so stalls pop up every weekend, offering the best of Charlevoix. Growers, producers and breeders, bakeries, pickers and artisans all meet up, for the pure pleasure of eating and buying locally.
